This is a really good start. I like how she isn't trusting of people, but she has a fun nature about her...like every elementary school teacher should.

Good job on capturing a teacher's personality and not skipping over things that should be said to get her personality out there.
I still think the kids shouldn't speak at if they are adults...only because I have never met a first grader who talks like that and I have been to many different states. (PA,WA,VA,FL,DE, NY, NJ and VT) Then again I haven't been to this state where the kids are in this story. All in all it's a good start
