August and Pedo-bears by UnderAbigailsRose

It was an average day for me, here in Finland. It was also getting close to the beginning of fall, which was my favorite time of the year. Probably because of my giant hoody collection. A girl can never have too many hoodies. I was skipping along the pathway in town, looking for something to do, seeing as my close friends were so busy. They have been so busy ever since they have come back from the States. Nevertheless, that is the price of having friends in an up-and-coming band. “Hey, (Y/N)!” someone yelled from behind me. Turning around, I pushed a strand of hair behind my ear, smiling as the larger man picked me up in a bone-crushing hug.

“Bobo, how are you?” I asked once he had set me down.

“Good. Working hard with the guys of Call Me Johnny and Snow White’s Poison Bite. How about you, (Y/N)?” we both entered a café that was close by. You see, Bobo, or Hannu by some, has been my best friend since we were potty trained. That is how long we have known each other. Crazy, right? Me, a midget, friends with this gorilla of a man.

“Same ol’, same ol’…” I sighed, taking a sip of my drink. “You’re lucky, ya know? You get to tour, see the world, and meet people who your music has helped in so many ways. Then there’s me, stuck here until I basically become dust.” I worked in sales for a local skate store, the only thing I was ‘qualified’ for. No one wanted to hire a ‘smart girl’ that liked wearing hoodies and skinny jeans, which fucking sucked!

“Well… about that…” Bobo scratched at his scruffy beard. Out of strange habit, I sunk down in my seat, playing with the multiple of random bits of jewelry I had on my hands. My favorite was the plastic ghost ring that I wore on my right ring finger. “Well, I don’t wanna ruin the surprise, so how about you come over to my place later, okay?”

“B-But tonight is my horror movie-o-thon!” I whined, laying down on table. “And I have tickets to (insert new horror movie title)!”

He just chuckled at me, screwing up my (hair style/color). “It shouldn’t take that long, jeesh!” he teased, poking me in the side.

Jumping to the side, I slapped at the prodding digit. He knew how ticklish I was, and that I did not enjoy being poked in the least bit. “Stop it, you ass!” Bobo stopped when I tried kicking him in the shins.

“Be nice!” he scolded, wagging his finger in my face. “Or you can forget me telling August anything about you.” My face went bright red.

“Shut up!” this time I did kick him in the shin. He yelped, rubbing the abused spot on his right leg. “L-let’s just go and playing something.”

            “Like Guitar Hero?”

“Sure, why not?” I sighed, taking another drink, rolling my (eye color) eyes.

Bobo left about three hours ago, telling to come over at about 7-ish. Looking down at my tickets, I noticed that they said 9:26, so I had plenty of time to get to the theater if it did not go that long, as he said it shouldn’t. Stuffing them in my zombie high tops, I threaded my bullet belt through the belt loops of my (fav. color) skinny jeans, adding two chains, before tugging down my white tank top that I destroyed. It used to be a short-sleeved top, but I went and cut off the sleeves before cutting open the sides up, so it did not cling to my subtle curves as much. One day, when I wore it at work, one of my co-workers thought it would be awesome to pour all this fake blood on me as I was helping repaint the walls. So now the once all white fabric look like a horror show, stained in random areas from the red dye in the fake blood.

Last thing I pulled on was my favorite hoody, by far. Even though it seem to be falling apart in random areas, I loved it like no other. More than likely because it is the hoody I stole from August when mine went missing and it was freezing out, though he probably did not care, seeing as he has never asked for it back. Clipping my keys to my waist, I bent down and pet my shorthaired tuxedo kitten, making sure his dish was filled with food and clean water before leaving.

I hailed a cabby, giving them Bobo’s address before sitting back. It has been a few months since I last seen the guys, minus Niko. However, that was because Niko refused to tour or do anything with his other band’s leading up to the birth of his first child. Which everyone understood, seeing as it is a pretty big deal, being his first baby. Then once everyone came back, then end up becoming busy, so we never really had time to hang. I knew Allan was searching for possibly a bigger space, so he could have a home studio, and Bobo and André had to go back to work because of our country’s laws. While I wasn’t very sure with what is going on with August.

            “Miss?” the cabby driver spoke.

“Ah, sorry.” I paid him and got out, going up to the door and knocking. I waited for a bit, hearing clattering before someone walking to answer the door.

“Hello—” August cut himself off as he stood there, dumbly holding open the door.

“I’m not paying to heat the outside, Teemu! Shut the damn door!” I heard Bobo shout from inside.

“Uh, it’s (Y/N)!” August shouted back.

“Then let her in, dork.” Bobo snickered, pushing the light brunette to the side. “You’re right on time.”

“Pfft. Unlike you, I enjoy being on time.” I scoffed, removing my hoody and hanging it up.

“You know we can see your bra, right?” he asked, pointing to the red lace that was visible.

I slapped my hands to my face, speaking sarcastically. “No, I did not know this! It is such a big secret that I have boobs and have to wear a bra! Are you fucking serious?”

“Hey, (Y/N), how’ve you been?” Allan asked, giving me a hug. I hugged him back, feeling my skin prickle when the cold glass of his beer bottle touched my skin. He smelled like a nice mixture of leather, cologne, and cigarettes.

“Been okay, just have been missing my favorite group of freaks, though.” He chuckled, nodding.

“Noticed your English has improved. Been studying?” Allan asked, releasing me to take a sip of his drink.

Nodding, I flopped down on the sofa. “Still could be better. I slur some of my words, and have this weird lisp that goes in and out when I talk.”

He patted my shoulder, taking a seat across from me. “You’ll get there, don’t worry.”

“I know why Niko’s not here, but where’s André?” I asked, looking at the three grown men.

“Something for Countless Goodbyes came up, so he had to see to that.” August answered, lifting my legs so he could sit. I threw one over his lap, while the other just dangled.

I nodded, looking over at the other two. “So…”

“Did Bobo ruin the surprise?” Allan spoke, sneering at his bassist. I laughed; he always made the weirdest of faces. I shook my head, silencing my laughter. “Good. Cause, I, for one, wanna see your face when we tell you.”

            “Tell me what?”

They all had this mischievous look on their faces, almost as if the cat ate the canary. “Well…” August began, breaking the silence.

“How would you feel about possibly…” next Bobo spoke, almost as if they had this scripted out.

“I dunno… about being our official merch girl?” Allan finished for them all, smiling this dorky as fuck grin.

“Are you fucking kidding me?!” I shouted, sitting up straight. “Fuck yes I will!” I ran over and tackled both Bobo and Allan in a hug, smiling as I let them both go. “Was this your idea, Bobo?” I asked, looking at my childhood friend.

“Nope, all his.” He jabbed his thumb over at a slightly grinning August, who looked a little awkward. Jumping over the coffee table, I landed on him and made sure to wrap my legs and arms around him in a tight hug.

            “Thank you!”

“Let’s celebrate!” Bobo jumped in on us, breaking up our longer-than-needed hug. Allan left the room and came back with a box of pizza, eating a slice already.

“What? I’m hungry…” he gave the box to us, and we all grabbed a slice. I bit into it, enjoying the melted cheese that was so gooey. I turned to see that August had pulled all of his cheese off, covering his chin in sauce. Sadly, his tongue was not long enough to lick it off, so I leaned forward and got it myself. “Ooh~” teased Allan, chuckling with the gorilla. Feeling my cheeks turning red, I turned away and continued eating.

•August’s Point of View•

It was getting late, and (Y/N) seemed like she had somewhere to be. Bobo pulled me off to the side as I came returning from the bathroom. “What?” I asked, rocking back and forth on my heels.

“Dude, you know ‘what’.” He poked me in the forehead, sending me rocking backwards. “Ask her out!”

“Ask who out?” I feigned dumb.

“Don’t try that shit with me, Teemu. We all know you have a crush on (Y/N), so just admit it.” I could feel my face heating up. “Aha! See, you’re blushing!”

Slapping my hand over his mouth, I quickly silenced him. “Bobo shut the fuck up, man! What if she heard you?”

“I doubt it, Allan’s explaining to her on what’s to be expected for being a merch girl.” He shrugged, removing my hand. “Tonight’s (Y/N)’s horror-o-thon, so ask her out on a date to see (horror movie title) that just came out.” Bobo shoved some tickets into my hands. “If you don’t, I swear I’m going to punch you.”

“Okay, okay! I get it. Just don’t hit me, you over grown gorilla.” Bobo gave me this stupid shit eating grin of his, leaving me alone in the hallway. I sighed, looking down at the tickets he gave me.

“Fuck…” I groaned, banging my head back against the wall as I pit down on my lip piercing. Swallowing thickly, I entered back in the living room, seeing (Y/N) holding her shoes upside down, shaking them hard.

“Oh no! They must have fallen out in the cabby!”

“What’d you lose this time, (Y/N)?” asked Allan, quirking an eyebrow at her.

“My ticket to the movies tonight.” She sighed, pulling her shoes back on.

“Well?” mouthed Bobo, gesturing towards her. I flipped him off before tapping her on the shoulder.

“Um… (Y/N), can I talk to ya for a bit over here?” I pointed to the hallway.

“Sure.” She got off the floor with my help, dusting off her butt before coming with me to the hallway. “Whaddup?” she asked, pushing her (hair color) bangs behind her ears.

“Uh, you know that new movie that comes out tonight, the one you lost your ticket to?” I asked, seeing her nod. “Well… you see… I have an extra, so if you don’t mind going with me…”

            “Like a date?”

            “Y-Yes?”

She smiled up at me, making my palms sweat, as she nodded. “Sure, it’s a date then. Let’s go now so we can get good seats.” I exhaled slowly, walking after her to retrieve my coat and keys.

We both sat in the third row from the screen, in one of those ‘couple seats’. (Y/N) had her legs pulled up under her, resting her head against my shoulder as we both munched away on popcorn. She squeaked during the overly gory bits, clinging to my arm, as I just laughed, finding some of the deaths to be amusing. I reached for more of the salty snack, only to feel her hand instead. I jerked back, as if she shocked me, feeling my face heat up.

“Okay, that was really freaky!” she exhaled as we left the theater, stretching towards the sky. “Did you enjoy yourself?” (Y/N) asked, looking up at me.

I nodded. “Yeah, it was real fun.” I turned, going in the direction of my car. “It’s getting pretty late; I’ll just drop you off at home.”

            “August…”

“Yeah?” I turned around, only to have my lips meet hers in a soft kiss.

(Y/N) backed up a bit, blushing. “I really did have a good time, August.” She spoke. “And I’m glad I could see this movie with you.” She played around with a plastic ghost ring on her finger.

Grabbing her hand, I closely inspected it. “You kept it?”

“Of course I kept it, you dork!” I could not keep the smile off my face as I picked her up around the hips in a hug, spinning us both around. The people exited the theater looked at us strangely, but I did not care. Just finding out that she kept that plastic ring made me so happy.

So happy, in fact, that I bent down so I kiss those soft lips of hers, hearing her giggle as I did so. “So, does that make me your dork?” I questioned, grinning stupidly.

“Do you need to ask?” she grabbed the edges of my hood, pulling me down for another soft kiss.

“Finally!” we broke apart to see Allan, Bobo, and André staring at us.

“What are you guys doing here?” I asked, my green eyes widening.

“To see if our plan would work, which is look like it did.” Laughed Bobo, looking smug.

“Let’s go.” (Y/N) grabbed my hand, taking us both away from our friends. “Oh, and if you want, you can just stay the night at me place. I doubt (cat’s name) would mind.”

“Sure, but can we watch the Gremlins?”
